Moira Young is

I come from Vancouver on Canada's West Coast. I was a tap dancing chorus girl and itinerant opera singer before a lucky accident rekindled my early ambition to be a writer. I've had tea with Stewart Grainger in LA, dessert with Rex Harrison in Manhattan and pizza with Philip Pullman in Coventry, although not on the same day. I inherited my storytelling genes from my Cornish Methodist grandfather, who was a travelling boy preacher known as Sunny Jim. My debut novel, Blood Red Road, was published in 2011 to international critical acclaim. It won a host of literary prizes in Canada, the USA, France and the UK, including the Costa Children’s Book Award 2012. With Rebel Heart and Raging Star, it forms the Dustlands trilogy, published worldwide and now in TV development with Ridley Scott. In 2016 The Road to Ever After was published for younger readers.
