Margie Nomura is a chef, food writer and creator and host of the incredibly popular podcast, Desert Island Dishes™.
Born out of her lifelong passion for food, Desert Island Dishes™ sees Margie sit down with a wide variety of fascinating people – from Prue Leith, Anna Jones and Ruth Rogers to The Hairy Bikers - to talk about the food that has shaped their lives. Yet, is Margie’s warmth and friendly personality that gets her guests to really open up and answer the questions that you’ve always secretly wanted to know.
Going from strength to strength Desert Island Dishes™ and Margie have been featured on Radio 4 Extra’s Podcast Radio Hour and BBC London as well as being recommended by The Guardian, The Pool, Sheerluxe, Red Online, Stylist and Grazia Magazine.
With over ten years of experience as a professional chef, Margie trained at Ireland’s world-renowned Ballymaloe Cookery School after graduating from Oxford University and has since cooked all over the world in places as far flung as Japan and South Africa where she spent several months teaching Zulu women how to cook.
Alongside her podcast and food writing Margie works as a freelance private chef (occasionally for guests as esteemed as the Queen of England) and works closely with brands to bring together food for events in an effortlessly stylish and delicious way.
